SPARK:

Sports Park for Amateur Recreation in King County

“This is about building a healthier quality of life for everyone. These kinds of parks will definitely have an impact on quality of life and economics in the region.” Kristen Bush, Executive Director, Northwest Parks Foundation

This $12 million sports park, located in South King County just west of Covington, will be funded through a combination of nonprofit financing tools, government and private grants, and a community fundraising capital campaign that includes sponsorship opportunities for donors, corporations, and local small businesses.

A first of its kind sports venue for a variety of amateur and youth sports, including rugby, lacrosse, field hockey, football, ultimate disk sports, soccer, etc...

The Playing Field
• $12 million• 27 acres
• 33,000 sq. yards of playing surface
• 10,000 sf activity center
• Field features tailored to each unique sport
• Public park elements serving the local neighborhood

What Makes SPARK Special?
• SPARK is designed as a completely selfsustaining year-round sports tournament facility, meaning it pays for itself!

• Local: First active recreation complex serving children and adult participants in this area, finally creating a home for the Pacific Northwest’s hundreds of amateur and youth sports teams.

• Regional: Five field capacity to enable support for a variety of recreation programs.

• State: Creates a destination tournament venue.

• National: Develops the first designated rugby facility in the U.S.
